Kalyssa Kleinschmit Presented Virtue First Memorial Award
Kalyssa Kleinschmit (Senior) has been given the Randy Traeger 'Virtue First' Memorial Award. And deservedly so!
Take it from Principal Dale Pedersen:
"Kalyssa embodies the statement, 'lead by example'. She shows maturity by going above and beyond the academic responsiblities at Kennedy High School through her involvement with the Health Occupations and Services Association, National Honor Society, and with student leadership, as Class President for all four years.
Kalyssa also volunteers her time with Habitat for Humanity, helping those less fortunate than herself; and works at various fundraising booths at Mt. Angel Oktoberfest. Kalyssa is a fantastic choice for this award."
Thank you for all your hard work, Kalyssa! All of Mt. Angel thanks you!
The new timing stand was completed this winter by Korrie Shull’s JFK shop class with the invaluable tutelage and supervision of Tommy Riedman. We received a $1950 grant from the Oregon chapter of USA Track & Field to help cover the materials cost for the stand as well as make other improvements to our track facilities.
Tommy was able to secure donations for most of the materials, allowing us to devote more grant funds to other needs.
Thank you Tommy Riedman for your work! We appreciate it immensely!

This month, construction began on the 24' x 48' addition to the Kennedy High School Agriculture Shop. The CTE Revitalization Grant will provide 1152 sq. ft. of additional space for shop projects and storage. Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities are a top priority in Mt. Angel School District and supplying students with more space and resources for these learning and career opportunities gives them an edge in the workforce and their own lives.
Mt. Angel School District looks forward to the completion of our shop addition and how our CTE students will utilize it to create and learn.
