Comprehensive School Counseling:

Oregon's Comprehensive Framework for School Counseling has been developed to meet the needs of our ever-changing world and to support Oregon's educational goal of providing a well-rounded, world-class education for all students. Comprehensive school counseling in Oregon provides developmental and systematic support to each and every student's academic, career, and social/emotional development and achievement, and supports participation in the broader community.

Comprehensive school counseling programs are proactive and preventative. Comprehensive School Counseling is a program for every student rather than a service for some. The goal is that every student will leave the K-12 system with Mindsets & Behaviors to live, learn, work and contribute in the world effectively as individuals, learners, producers, consumers, family members, and citizens.

Multi-Tiered, Multi-Domain Systems of Support:

School Counseling provides schoolwide supports and interventions in tiered interventions. School Counseling supports not only academics, behavior/social-emotional but also college & career readiness as well as community involvement. In Mt. Angel SD, this is represented in the LEFT side of the pyramid (please see the RTI section of our website for more information).
