JOB SUMMARY
The Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school, providing vision and strategic direction to ensure academic excellence and equitable outcomes for all students. This role includes implementing the District's strategic plan, promoting social-emotional learning, and fostering a positive, inclusive school culture. The Principal is responsible for student and staff safety, effective instructional programs, staff development and evaluation, class scheduling, and budget management. Additionally, the role involves maintaining strong relationships with families, the community, and district personnel while overseeing extracurricular activities and ensuring compliance with district policies.

- Supervise the maintenance staff responsible for the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning and the evaluation of such staff
- Examine school buildings on a regular basis for needed repairs and maintenance
- Schedule work time, work orders and daily duties for assigned maintenance staff
- Order maintenance supplies and maintain the inventory of such supplies
- Communicate on a regular basis with principals and other personnel regarding facilities
- Report immediately to the school’s principal and superintendent any major repairs needed and/or any damage to school property
- Accept responsibility for maintenance work such as replacing worn or defective switches, faucets and plumbing fixtures, and the repairing of fencing, walls, lockers, ceilings, etc.
- Be responsible for the lay out and inspection of work, and assisting the crew
- Assist in the selection, assignment, scheduling, training and evaluations of the maintenance staff
- Advise on the hiring of contractors to perform certain maintenance or repair services
- Write bid and request-for-proposal documents and supervise the completion of work ensuing from the awarding of contracts

- Establish and supervise summer maintenance programs and set up vacation schedules for the maintenance staff
