April 3, 2026 ~ Principal and supervisor 2026-27 budget requests due to Business Manager
April 20, 2026 ~ Publish NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE BUDGET COMMITTEE in a newspaper of general circulation in the district. Notice to be published 5 to 30 days prior to the meeting date, and also posted on the District Internet Website for at least the 10 days before the meeting. ORS 294.401(4)(5) HB2425(2011)
May 18, 2026 ~ FIRST MEETING OF THE BUDGET COMMITTEE. Elect presiding officer. Presentation of the budget message by the executive officer and the budget document by the budget officer. ORS 294.401(1) Receive questions and comments from citizens. Announce the time and place of the next meeting, if any. Additional meetings not published in the original Budget Committee notice must be advertised as a meeting of the government body. The budget committee may demand and receive any information it requests and compel the attendance of any employee at its meetings. All meetings shall be open to the public. The budget document is filed in the district office as a public record, and a copy of the document or part thereof is made available to any person requesting it. A majority of the members of the budget committee is required to pass any motion and approve the budget document. ORS 174.130

May 29, 2026 ~ Publication of the NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING, FINANCIAL SUMMARY WITH FUND SUMMARIES (not more than 30 days nor less than 5 days prior to hearing.) ORS 294.421(2)
June 10, 2026 ~ REGULAR BOARD MEETING and PUBLIC HEARING ON THE BUDGET, as approved by the budget committee, shall be conducted by no less than a quorum of the board. ORS 294.430 Enact resolutions adopting the budget, making the appropriations and categorizing and declaring the tax levy. At the time the budget is adopted,
expenditures in each fund of the budget may be increased up to ten percent or $5,000, whichever is greater, provided that the tax levy as published is not increased. To exceed either of these restrictions would require republication of the Financial Summary with Fund Summaries, a Second Notice, and another public hearing prior to July 1st. ORS 294.435 and OAR 150-294.435
July 15, 2026 ~ Certify the 2026-27 tax levy to the county assessor. ORS 310.060(7) Submit complete budget document to State Superintendent of Public Instruction and ESD superintendent. ORS 326.310(4)
