ESSER Funds
Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III)
On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021. The ARP Act includes nearly $122 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency relief (ESSER III) Fund. This federal relief funding is a significant opportunity for Oregon to provide support recovery from impacts of the pandemic. The Mount Angel School District was allocated $729,563.92 which can be spent through the 2023-24 school year. The district's current ESSER budget shows planned spending for Year 1 and Year 2 with the flexibility to adjust as needs emerge over time. The three main strategies the district has identified are Relationships & Mental Health Support, Time & Attention, and Health & Safety. For more detailed information about these strategies and the activities to support them, you can see the plan the Mount Angel School District has submitted with ODE here.
