+ My Chromebook will not turn on...
First of all, make sure the Chromebook is charged. When you plug it in, on the left side a light should come on. If the light is RED, this indicates that the device is dead. An ORANGE light indicates that the device is charging, GREEN indicates it is fully charged. If the charging light is on AND the device has been plugged in for at least 5 minutes and it still does not turn on, contact your school office for an exchange.

+ If I need a Chromebook, what do I need to do?
Contact your students school to make arrangements to pick one up.
-
+ What should I do if the Chromebook is damaged or not working?
If you have followed the "troubleshooting guide" and/or utilized some of the tips on this site AND the device is still not working OR has been physically broken, please contact your students school to schedule a time to receive a replacement. When bringing in the non-working/broken device, please bring all power cords that you received when you picked up the device.
-
+ What do I need to do to return a Chromebook or Hot Spot?
Please return the device to your students school. Make sure to include all items received with the device including all power cords. Lost devices and/or charging cables may result in a fine.

+ How will my student be protected from objectionable material while on the Internet?
Filtering software is used to screen out objectionable websites. However, no filtering system is perfect. Students learn about digital safety and responsibility and how to stay away from objectionable material and be safe online. Because no filtering system is perfect, it is important parents and guardians monitor computer use and practice digital citizenship. Within the Mt. Angel School District we utilize Securly to monitor student online activity. Through the use of Securly we receive various reports on flagged activity and parents have the option to receive activity reports for their student. The "Home" feature is in the final testing stages and more information will be made available soon.

+ What if it appears the charger is no longer working?
If you believe that the charger you received with your Chromebook is no longer working please test the charger by confirming that the power cord connected to the wall is fully seated in the charging block. You can also try switching to a different wall outlet. If the charger still does not function, contact your school office to arrange for an exchange. The exchange may or may not require exchanging the entire Chromebook, depends on the availability of the chargers. When you do call in, be prepared to provide the asset number of the Chromebook AND brand, if possible.

+ What should I do if I am concerned about the amount of "Screen Time" my student has?
